Team -
Last weekend was an impressive highlight of the talent, hard work, and spirit of the Harwood community! From the Harwood Assembly Band and opening act Glam Cowboys’ gig at Zen Barn on Friday night, to the HUMS Math Counts team wrapping up their season with the state competition at UVM on Saturday, to the incredible Boys Basketball team for leaving it all on the court and finally to the Boy’s Hockey Team State Champions - it was certainly a weekend for the books.

Thank you to all the students who sang, jammed, danced, calculated, collaborated, passed, shot, defended, and cheered! We are so lucky to all be part of such a dedicated and vibrant community!

Student Support Services | As we start to have warmer weather and move into the spring months it is typical to see an increase in behaviors and a good time to remind ourselves of the school wide behavior norms we agreed to at the start of the year:
Cell phones are locked in Yondr pouches for the school day Students arrive to class on time, this includes ELO. Students are in class for the duration of the block, this includes ELO. No more than 1 student will leave the classroom at a time and students will sign out and in when leaving their assigned location. When in the hallways during class time students use a hall pass. Bathrooms are kept clean, safe and comfortable for all. There are no personal belongings allowed in the bathroom. Students agree to use technology in a safe, respectable and responsible way to protect themselves and support a positive learning environment

TA update
| We continue with our theme of Kindness to Ourselves and Others next week with the Wellness Fair on Thursday, March 20th! In TA students will have time to review the Passport that outlines the vendors and provides a little information about them. This will enable students to be planful about their attendance at the fair. Grades 9, 10 and 12 will be reviewing this during TA on Tuesday. Grade 11 will be reviewing it on Thursday, the day of the fair. On Tuesday juniors will begin the three part series with School Counseling and Next Step. Junior TA teachers will see the schedule in their TA slideshow.
Activity of the Week
Positive Post-its! This activity is simple. Bring a stack of post-its to TA. Support students to write positive messages. This can be for specific people or can be created to bring kindness and positivity to the school. Post-its can be delivered or can be put up in strategic areas of the school. Help students think about the folks that make their time at school better…cafeteria staff, office staff, custodians, friends, coaches, teachers, etc… |

| Course Registration Update We have met with most of the rising 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students to select their courses for the upcoming school year! Over the next few days, we’ll be meeting with the final few folks. Lisa T. will start compiling the spreadsheets for each department to review their course requests. There will be department time during the faculty meeting on 3/25 for folks to review course requests and proposed section numbers.
CVCC 2nd round apps close 3/17 Students have until Monday, March 17th, to submit a second round application to the Central Vermont Career Center. If students have questions or need help with their application, please encourage them to contact their school counselor.
College Visit Day - TBD We’re in the process of planning a day in April when we will take HUHS students to visit college campuses. We hope to model the trip after Harvest Day. Stay tuned for more information!
